Another Response to Mr. Riley

Mr Riley : responses to your questions/comments

1-“And all you folks on the Opposition side do work in real estate.”

Answer:

Who do YOU work for? Your“facts” show that you have spent a lot of time on this matter. Are you an NSO professional , an urban planner? Are you qualified to predict future building and real estate trends?

2-“Where have you folks been in the last 18 months “

Answer: We all have jobs, families, busy lives, we do not have time to start and campaign for a petition to tell our neighbors what they can do with their own homes.

We have also been keeping up with the news. We are concerned about our financial security and the last thing we want to do is hand over the property rights to our major financial asset, our house, to the City of Dallas.

If you have been working on this NSO for 18 months I would suggest that you revise your position given the CURRENT situation. Nothing is what it was18 months ago.

  1. So, you're against the NSO. I get it. When they send the ballots to your rent houses, make sure you vote your conscience.

I really appreciate you thinking that I know so much about all this. Actually, just a concerned citizen with a computer here. The data's all out there in the public domain. You just have to want your opinions to be based on something other than hearsay and you go out and educate yourself about the issues.

    You should all try it.

  2. Mr. Riley, you really have now idea what you are talking about. You know how to place and use words but they amount to nothing, because they have no meaning.

And by the way.....you are not a home owner here in our neighborhood, you can't vote.

  3. Lucky for me my wife and I have the same opinion about the Overlay, so our home will be voting FOR the Overlay. Each FAMILY, each ADDRESS gets one vote.

    Just like your house.

So, BM, how are you going to vote?

  5. So, you still just get one vote, right?

I guess you think that if you swear and call people names people will be afraid of you.

Why don't you try talking this way when you get up before the plan commission and the City Council?

  6. Because I have respect for them, not for you jackass!!! They are not the ones trying to shove this down our throats.

  7. You know, that's where you're so wrong. Well, that one of the many ways that you're wrong.

They're the one who enabled residents to apply for an NSO. They're the ones who created it. It is an ordinance enacted by the Dallas City Council. You have a link on your that web page to the ordinance.

Here, let me quote it for you to save you the mouse click:

"The city council finds that the construction of new single family structures that are incompatible with existing single family structures within certain established neighborhoods is detrimental to the character, stability, and livability of that neighborhood and the city as a whole."

    And:

"The neighborhood stabilization overlay is intended to preserve single family neighborhoods by imposing neighborhood-specific yard, lot, and space regulations that reflect the existing character of the neighborhood. The neighborhood stabilization overlay does not prevent construction of new single family structures or the renovation, remodeling, repair or expansion of existing single family structures, but, rather, ensures that new single family structures are compatible with existing single family structures."
